NEWARK, N.J. — On July 22, 2020, U. S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at Newark Liberty International Airport arrested Waleed Mashne, United States citizen, as he attempted to flee the United States.

CBP officers arrested Mr. Mashne based on an outstanding warrant for the offenses of Failure to Appear and Cruelty to animals - 4th degree by the Middlesex County Prosecutors Office, New Brunswick, NJ.

CBP officers turned the suspect over to the Port Authority Police Department for execution of the warrant.

“CBP officers stand on the front line daily in the defense of the United States of America.  That puts us in a unique position to assist our law enforcement partners in apprehending those who would break the law and attempt to avoid prosecution,” said Troy Miller, Director, Field Operations, New York Field Office.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office thanks the U.S. Customs & Border Protection for their swift action.
